My $10 Idea (c)
Someday, I would like to write a book. Possibly two.
The first one I have wanted to write for some time... it would be a book of short stories (in fact, they both would). Each story would describe a way the universe may have come into existence. It wouldn't be serious. Each story would be from a different point of view. They would be cute, witty, and completely ridiculous. They may eventually, by the end, tie together. Think Douglas Adams. (No, not just for this. Always.)
The second idea, which I have just thought up, would be to write a bunch of stories dealing with frames of reference and detail. I just wrote an email to a friend in which I followed the story of a drop of oil in the Middle East to the computer that I am typing on at this moment. I challenged him to come up with a more complicated man-made system than that one. Could this not become a book? It wouldn't even have to be man-made; in fact, it shouldn't. All stories should start at The Sun. Actually... to mix it up... the last story should start at a different star. The photon's paths (while photons, and afterwards) could go on for millions of years and, for fun, cross paths a few times along the way.
(c) Ethan, dammit.
